Wow, I have a legitimate question for the board

I was wondering the process and price for obtaining exclusive or legal rights to a song so that it can be used in a movie, and not have a record company get in a tizzy. The movies I used to make were usually only seen by about 10 people, and I never cared about the law. But if I want to try expanding my audience, I might want to be less guerilla with my film making as to not attract lawyers.
