Reading by "thread" is useful in general chat boards, yes.

However, in the case of THIS board, where most people don't care to read anything by anyone other than the Reds and two or three of their favorite posters, reading by thread is just a fucking hassle.

In this format, if you just want to read one person's response in a thread, you can do it... without wading through every little piddling asshole's opinion and ramblings.

Ultimately, this board is to facilitate Kevin and Viewaskew people to get their news out to the fanbase... and this format facilitates it best for those reasons.

And beyond that...

It's what-you-see-is-what-you-get simplicity is useful to web and web-board newbies... the only people who don't like it are jaded net-vets who want their boards with bells and whistles.

Since it lacks bells and whistles, it's low-bandwidth and doesn't take up much site memory... which helps people on 28.8s and what not.

And most importantly, it's what Kevin's most comfortable with.

So, in conclusion:

It's easily read by post/poster instead of by topic.
It's simple, non-threatening and low bandwidth.
It's what Kevin likes.

Thank you.

Mike
