: I am a new fan of your work and I couldn't think of anything more to say than thank you! (Actually I did think of more to say, which you will see in everything that follows)

: I saw you a few times on Politically Incorrect and it inspired me to watch your movies (good marketing strategy). I have to say that, even though you will probably shrug off my compliments because after reading your posts you are a pretty humble guy, you do very important work. Chasing Amy and Dogma are great examples that you can incorporate dick and fart jokes (which having the sense of humor of an eighth grader at times, I think are hilarious) into movies that are very socially relavent. On a personal level, as a person who was raised Catholic, I want to thank you for making a movie for people like us. I had many of the same thoughts growing up that were throughout the movie and I hold the Chris Rock character Rufus' lines about ideas vs. beliefs very strongly. That movie helped me make sense of some of the shit i was fed growing up.

: Random thought: I recently participated in a walk across the country to raise awareness about sexual assault (www.oneinfour.com), and one of the things that made some days bearable for me was when one of the guys I walked with quoted the entire "What's a Nubian?" scene from Chasing Amy. One of the funniest scenes I've seen in a movie.

: Anyway, back to the ass kissing...

: Not only do you make great movies, but you have a place where you can interact with the people who love them. After stumbling across this site today, and spending about two hours reading the message board, I can be almost certain that you're the real deal. Not only are you a great writer, but you are also a decent human being who cares for others. It's nice to see that in times where many successful people are ego-maniacs that think their shit doesn't stink and that they're better than everyone else because a few people spent money to watch their movies. So, as a new fan, I'd like to thank you for doing what you do, and I look forward to learning more about the work you've done and seeing the work you do in the future.

: Take care, man, and keep doing what you're doing!
