From the outside, us newbies didn't know the history of the Rider Board; all we knew was that Kevin Smith's website contained a board for a small group of fans who got to decide who was invited to the board. Sure, I know now that it just kinda worked out that way, but how could that NOT look like a group of "special" fans? If Kevin came by here and said "you, you, and you, you all get your own private fiefdom here at viewaskew.com", that exclusivity would damn sure piss people off, and that was how it looked to outsiders.
