I touched on my reason in my long, rambling post a little bit down aways. While not discounting the maturity of the dialogue and/or relationship "stuff" with Holden and Alyssa, it wasn't something I could ever relate to, admittedly because of my own emotional deficiencies. (This might help - I'm 34 and never been kissed).
Mainly, a lot of histrionics were involved in those scenes, and histrionics make me VERY uncomfortable. Ex. the shouting match in the parking lot, the fussin' and fightin' after Holden admitted he loved Alyssa, etc. I'm mellow almost to the point of having no passion at all - at least, that's my self-image. I've mentioned this to others and been pooh-poohed for that, so apparently I'm alone in that assessment.
Joey Lauren Adams' voice. She made my ears bleed, sweartuhgawd. Made it a little difficult to appreciate her scenes.
But to see if this saves me from the hangman's noose, here's what I really, really liked:
Jay and Silent's Bob scene (of course!). Because of the Vegas dancer comment, I had no choice but to tear up the floor when I dressed as Bob at a costume party this Halloween. Had to stay in character, dontyouknow.
Every scene having to do with comics and the world of comics, esp. Hooper's ruse as Super Angry Black Writer Guy.
The "Jughead IS gay!" argument
Hell, Hooper and Banky in general. Any scene with them. Their lines were just so damned funny.
