Kevin Smith and his movies are not as popular and well known as
we'd like to think they are. We think that since Kevin has a good sized
diehard following and we get to talk to each other on this board , we
mistake that for huge universal following. The average person never
heard of Clerks, and didn't want to see Mallrats because they "Don't
like that Shannen Doherty Bitch". JSBSB made about 30 million. A
nice gross but consider that a lot of the diehard fans went to see it
several times.
Also, when it comes right down to it, JSBSB and Dogma were just
mediocre comedies that will never measure up to Clerks and
Chasing Amy.
