The idea of a "Riders movie" was a joke that we were just throwing around, the same way Wizard casts a Watchmen movie... or whatever, maybe one or two people were taking the idea semi-seriously but jeez some of our people were 14 at that point... but when we were told that none of us would ever make it at all in any way (or something that could be loosely interpreted as that) we flipped out because it really stung.
But it was so long ago... and everyone who was uptight mellowed out and everyone who was young grew up... and moreover, everyone eventually realized that both "sides" were just comprised of human beings and things were (albeit slowly) forgiven.
Though... if I remember correctly?... that particular scandal actually put ABP into doubt for a short period of time. Or some phase of its production or something. The memory is hazy as hell.
