they are all basically the same, its usually just goes down to which company you like the best. When I skateboarded I loved Element decks. But when you are getting a board the deck isnt the most important, its the other stuff: trucks, wheels, hardware, barrings, and grip tape. For trucks I'd say Krux Trucks are the best; wheels I liked 55' Pig; shorty's hardware; and Black Magic grip tape.

: also, is there any places that give instruction or where you can learn how to do stuff?

skateboard.com has a lot of trick tips if memory serves. But the best way to learn is by doing. Get a board and skate everyday until you get skills.
