This message has two parts, one is to let everyone here know how
remarkable kevin's appearance was tonight, and the second part is a
personal thank you to kevin.
First. For those of you who missed it, Kevin came to Syracuse
University tonight for a Q&A session that lasted for almost four hours.
He consistently offered insight and laughs throughout the evening,
and willingly told all to the crowd everything it desired. From detailing
his appreciation of the "shocker" to stories about a comprimised
Jason Mewes, Smith bantered boundlessly with his fans. One
particular moment sparks me to give mad credit to kevin for handling
a bizarre situation.
A very emotional chick got up about 2 hours in and begged kevin to
help coax her ex boyfriend back by signing an autograph. Kevin
jabbed her saying "you think my autograph on a peice of paper will
make your boyfriend decide he loves you again?" But he then asked
the girl for her boyfriend's number, and when she gave it to him, he
called the kid up in Tennessee on his cell phone, from the podium,
and basically played intermediary as they worked their relationship
out in front of the crowd. She left crying after the phone call ended
when kevin held the phone to the mike and her boyfriend said "I love
you." So Kevin helps crazy people too. and has a good time with it.
Other highlights included an impromptu telephone call to Jason
Mewes, and a detailed explanation of how Mewes's asshole wound
up on his office door.
Then To Kevin,
I want to thank you for a wonderful appearance, four hours
is over and above what is expected of any speaker. I was the
person who brought the screenplay. I called my screenwriter
friend and he was dissapointed but he now understands your
position as well. Thanks for taking the time to explain yourself to
your fans, and fielding all questions regardless of how far out in
left field they originated from.
