Religion and Catholicism? Wow. He'd better watch out, 'cause those are touchy subjects. Once, some guy made a pro-religion movie, and a bunch of Catholics protested it anyway! And this other time, the cast of "You Can't Do That On Television" all grew up, so the show got a whole new cast! Now, I'm not saying that either of these scenarios might occur with Kevin Smith... but... y'know, he should watch out for one of them, if not both.

There was a "Clerks" animated series several years ago, even before there was a film. It featured a bunch of singing mice, and I don't think it did very well.
