As a young ignorant kid I saw Clerks. I found a wonderful outlet for my laughter, and insight into the human psyche. These were real people to me. Growing up in Chicago, I saw people like these everyday. I was anxious for the next Kevein Smith film. Mallrats came out, and again I found myself lost in The View Askewniverse. This was going to be big. Real big, and nobody even saw it comming! Next on the List, Chasing Amy. Wow! Could very well be any of us, not just Ben Afflek (or how ever you spell it), who gets to date a lesbian, kiss his best freind (with the tounge I believe), and get dumped all within a two hour time period. Fantastic! Then we get a taste of Dogma...Controvertial? I think not...Inciteful...Yes! We all batte with good and evil everyday, yet we very seldomly get a chance to see a live action version of it...with comedy attached! Clerks 2:Hardly Clerkin'? what happened? Were we led astray? I think not...Personally, no one was prepared (not that we didn't all want more of Jay and Silent Bob, because we still do), But it kind of snuck up on us. What more of a great surprise than Their very own movie. This is where I Finally say it...JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK! Holy shit! I Watched it more than I can count in the theatre, and am anticipating to see it on DVD! All the Characters in all the films, you were able to relate to. They were people that we interacted with everyday, and it was funny to see them displayed on the big screen, or in the comfort of our own homes. But as everyone knows, if they stayed till the very end of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back...The book was close on the View Askewniverse...Could this actually be the end? Come on...you got us hooked after 5 films, and we need more! I refuse to except the fact that JAY AND SILENT BOB HAVE LEFT THE BUILDING! Will Kevin actually be closing the book on the View Askewniverse, or is he simply waiting to make a come back with more from the characters when we least expect it. I would love to hear any feed back from anyone who has some sort of insight, a sort of "Medicine for the soul" if you will. I need a positive ending here!
