I don't think the trilogy is holy to begin with, and "slave costume"? That's JEDI.

Anyway, EMPIRE is so good simply because... well, it's GOOD. It's the best written of the films, the most mature, the best directed, and the acting is across-the-board the best of the trilogy. Mark Hamill is simply terrible in STAR WARS and JEDI, but he's actually GOOD in EMPIRE.

Seriously, on watching the re-released "special editions" in the movies, THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK was the ONLY one that held up for me and was a compelling viewing experience. The other two films just fell apart for me, but EMPIRE endured, so far above and beyond the other films in the trilogy, it feels like it belongs in a DIFFERENT series of films altogether.
