Hey, I asked once before about this, but I hoped to catch you now.
While reading through the script of Clerks (purchased at the Stash... meaning I paid for it, didn't download it ;))- I noticed the original line was.. "it's important to have a job that makes a difference boys, that's why I kill Chinamen for the railroad"
And my question is...
What does this mean?? I know that a great deal of immigrant Chinese labor was exploited during the building of the Transcontinental railroad oh so many years ago, and a lot of people died on the project.
But I don't know about Chinamen being DELIBERATELY killed. What does the line mean?
It's just strange to think one of the best lines in that movie (though there are many) almost wasn't. When did the change occur.
