In Reply to: Vulgarthon tix Swapping/selling info- IMPORTANT!!! posted by Vincent on November 08, 2001 at 14:56:51:

You have a challenge ahead of you, god bless and good luck...i envy you not.

: A lot of you have been wondering about how to go about trading or selling your Vulgarthon tickets- for example, maybe you bought two tix, but it turns out you only need one, or there are three of you going, but one of you got a ticket for theater 2 and the others are in theater 1 and you want to try and swap a ticket with somebody so you can all be together, or perhaps you have tickets for Monday, but your best buddy in the whole wide world has (or will have) a ticket for Tuesday, and you can't bear to be seperated. Now, I know we initially said tickets are "non-transferable", but we realizde this is a bit harsh. We just don't want any scalping going on is all, so here's the deal.

: To "trade" tickets, the easiest, most inobtrusive way is to set something up with somebody who will be coming to Vulgarthon either on the Vulgarthon website (is there a WWWBoard there? If not, somebody should start a "trade/swap/sell tickets" discussion at the Other Board where all this info can be traded)- you both come and pick up your tickets normally, and then meet at an arranged location and make the trade, no harm, no foul. However, if that won't work- i.e., if one of you is coming on Monday and the other is Tuesday so you won't be able to meet on the day of your respective shows- here's what you do. Make the arrangements to "trade" your tickets on-line, via e-mail or whatever. Trade your respective info with each other if it's a "trade"- i.e., tell each other your respective confirmation numbers- HOWEVER, you must BOTH inform me of the change. Basically, if you are going to make a pre-pick up trade with somebody- say, John has tickets 45 and 46 on Monday, but wants to trade with Jack who has tickets 345 and 346 on Tuesday, obviously John will be picking up Jack's tickets and vice versa- exchange your info via e-mail, and both of you include me in your e-mail correspondances (at my vpereira@monmouth.com e-mail address) so that I can verify that both parties are indeed legitimate ticket holders, and so that I can modify our ticket lists accordingly so the tickets can be picked up no problem after the info has been traded. When you trade tickets, remember that no money will be changing hands, it's just a straight up trade, so the only info the two traders need to exchange is their respective confirmation/ticket numbers so each party knows the new ticket numbers that they will be picking up, and including me in the trade will ensure that no hanky panky goes on and that these are legitimate trades and that everything runs smoothly.

: When it comes to selling tickets, the same as above must apply- I MUST be involved in the transaction so that I can verify the info for the buyer in particular so that they know the ticket is legit, and also so that I can modify our ticket lists accordingly. As far as exchange of money, you guys can handle that on your own- I'm guessing the buyer will send the seller a money order or something (for $60 per ticket- please, NO GOUGING- just be happy to get back what you paid for the ticket, because if we are informed of any gouging we'll just flat-out cancel your tickets and refund your money and resell them ourselves), that's fine- I don't want anything to do with the exchange of money between the parties, I just want to be a go-between when it comes to the exchange of the ticket INFO so that ticket pick-ups can go smoothly and the info on our pick up lists can be changed accordingly.

: Remember, DON'T give out your ticket info up front- any parties wanting to sell or trade tickets should get in touch with each other first BUT DON'T GIVE YOUR INFO TO EACH OTHER, then e-mail me INDIVIDUALLY with your respective ticket info so that I can verify the ticket info on our lists, then I will e-mail both of you giving the go-ahead for the trade or sale and will give each of you your new ticket info. Sound good?

: If this board changes soon (and it looks like it will), Ming or Ben please repost this.

: Vincent
