Usually... if people have the money... they come in the day before the event, stay the night and party... and stay the night afterward, party... and leave the next afternoon. People who travel a ways in sometimes catch some of the NYC sights or Atlantic City if they want to make a big trip out of it.
I'd say if you're there on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday... you won't be bored.
I wouldn't be surprised if you ran into a few early stragglers on Saturday night... or if you had some people to breakfast and lunch with Wednesday morning before the road is hit... but it'll be sparse.
