Sometimes theology reminds me of how comics writers have to make stuff fit after the fact. You can get some really tortured reasoning.

Reminds me of a guy who was really into X-Men. He told me this long continuity piece one time, the upshot of which was that Scott and Jean Grey's kid of an alternate timeline (I think, don't quote me, I wasn't all that interested) thought he was left alone by his parents. But through possessing other bodies, time shifts etc they were actually there for the kids entire life. So it looked like they weren't there but they were.

Theologians make up all sorts of justifications when the fact is they just don't know. Sometimes the world looks like God doesn't care, but just wait for a preacher to show how a total lack of heavenly involvement actually shows God's love.

Meanwhile there is very likely a different, and much more profound answer...if only we'd unshackle ourselves from our brain's need to find patterns even where they do not actually exist.

John

: The Bible says many times that the Heavenly hosts know how the story ends. Only God can pinpoint the exact point of "linear earth time" that Armageddon happens, but the whole story is known. Even Lucifer knows his fate.

: Therefor Bartleby and Loki would have seen the big picture and known who Rufus was well before he was ever concieved.

: the key is that for them to be placed on earth they would have to mold into a linear time and would therefor lose thier ability to see everything past present and future at once. (How frustrating would that be....although probably not as bad as Christ loosing His omniprescence)

: food for thought
