...and "homes" has been part of my daily vocabulary (Much to the annoyance of almsot everyone I know) ever since I heard "Paul's Boutique" in '89...Adrock had a lyric that went like "Funk dat?/Yo homes, funk DIS" and it's been rattling around my brain ever since....of course, I just started spelling it "holmes," just because...it seemed more right, I guess..."homes" does make more sense, seeing as it's based on the thankfully near-dead "homie"...the John Holmes reference would make sense, as I've heard his name dropped in a ton of lyrics...that, and the fact he's like the only porn guy's name widely known outside of Ron Jeremy, and NOBODY wants to be compared to The Hedgehog...
