I posted on another board, far far from here, my thoughts on Donnie Darko. One of which is that Donnie's sacrifice leaves no one to burn down Swayze's house and expose him for what he was. It's an interesting Moral trade-off...the life of Gretchen and Frank on one side and Donnie's own life and the bringing of Swayze to justice on the other.
