I liked the post-Roth VH, but I admit it was a shame they parted ways when they did. I thought they were just getting their rhythm, so to speak.
BTW, that Gary dude from Extreme could have potentially been the best thing that every happened to them, but if you look at the videos and listen to the songs from that disc carefully you should notice they did everything they could to push him to the background. . . they were trying not to be about the lead singer anymore-- which is the stupidest thing, because Van Halen has ALWAYS been about the lead singer. They drowned out and darned near hid (better yet, buried?) one of the best voices in rock because of their egos and their past.
