: I don't like this 'do' for the same reason I don't like it when guys shave their mustaches... it looks like everyone else! You need something unique and different to catch someone's eye and make them remember you. For Jay, it's the long hair, whereas for a sportscaster here, it was his mustache. When you shave (or cut your hair) you end up looking like the rest of the boring blah cookiecutter guys.
I had a goatee for three years. I decided to shave it off last weekend because everytime I look around, all I see are guys with goatees. I am now cleanshaven and more people have commented on how much better I look without the hair.
