Ok. This is my first post.
Item the 1st: After all these weeks I finally got a babysitter so the wife and I could see the new flick. I liked it. I laughed outloud many times. Couple of questions though:
A. Where was Alanis Morrisette? I thought she was going to have a bit part?
B. Why weren't Jeremy London and Claire Forlanie (forgive spelling) in it?
Again, I thought it was hilarious and I thank you for making it.
Item the 2nd: I read about the problems with GLAAD and thought I'd give my two cents worth. Watching and listening to people spout vulgarities, homophobic slang, and to an extent racial slurs is good comedy. Try and remember when you were a kid. You'd be fighting with your brother and before long one of you would start with the name calling. Without a doubt you'd hear "Nig***" and "Fa*". Now, remember how stupid you were as a kid?
I agree with Kevin, I wasn't laughing at the phrase, as if Jay got someone good by labeling them that. I was laughing at his ignorance and his audacity. How stupid the character is!! Was it bad to laugh at Mr. Magoo with all the trouble his blindness got him into?
Like Kevin, I am fat. Not overweight, chunky, big-boned or portly. I'm a fat guy. Will I be calling Kevin about his fat jokes? Will I be challenging him to put a disclaimer on his next movie about the use of phrases like "tons o' fun" and "Fly, Fat ass, Fly"? Not even for a $10,000 honorarium. I know it's been said, but letting labels get to you only empowers the labeler.
In closing, I would like to say I loved the movie and lighten up.
