another hidden joke (well, i didn't really get it until someone mentioned it here, on the board): the movie "crush groove" that bartleby and loki mention on the bus is about or contains something by (not really sure which) run dmc, which is why loki sings "run's house" once he is proven correct about whether the 'smooching seaman' (scott mosier) is commiting adultery.
a pretty sneaky one, if you're not familiar with run dmc (which i wasn't at my initial viewing), but extremely clever and funny none the less.
