I sincerely hope what I am about to write is not said too soon after these events, but nlatimer has a point. Bearing in mind that the terrorists were almost certainly from the middle east, and in one way or another were involved with the palestinian cause, might it be time for American, and the entire western world, to leave the middle east well alone.
The fact that these people have felt the need to commit these acts must be because they don't feel that anybody is giving them support in establishing their own state.
The land that is now Israel was originally held by Muslims. The creation of Israel after World War 2 appeased those affected by the holocaust, but displaced thousands of people. The action of Israel in the past fifty years have displaced even more.
I in no way condone acts of terrorism, but I sympathise with some (not all) palestinian groups. Israel have, in the last two months assasinated a number of palestinian officials, and have sized Palestinian administrative centres. They have broken international law on hundreds of occassions, and as long as the west continues to support them we will be inviting terrorist groups to attack us
