I'm saddened and horrified, but proud of the behavior of our country. There hasn't been a national panic... no rioting and looting. I'm proud of the calm way that this is being handled in new york and across the country.
I'm sickened by the loss of life, and I strongly urge everyone to give blood wherever you are. The local red cross here (ann arbor, MI) said they need all the help they can get, and they'll take anybody whenever.
Just don't forget as the days go on, the need for blood will only increase. Encourage all of your friends, relatives, co-workers... give blood if you can! This is the time for all of us to pull together and support each other.
