Although many people are going to pin anything happening in the middle east as religiously motivated, we must understand that issues of economics, politics, land ownership... are all very related. If this was coming from palestine (and I emphasise that although images of celebration in palestine were aired, this was probably actually orchestrated by relatively few people) we have to understand that palestinians fight not for religion in israel, but for land and sustainability. Which is compromised by Israel whose aggresivity is being forged by the US in terms of support, military training and what have you. Now, since any ethnic group is most likely to try to defend groups that have any sort of affiliations with them (political views, religious beliefs...) it is understandable that an attack might come from some other muslim group. Yes religion has something to do with the organisation of these movements, but it is far from being the only factor involved. Oversimplifying problems is very dangerous, and I truly hope that I didn't. I also want to acknowledge that this post is a very simple interpretation of a far more complex problem and want to point out to everyone that what I am trying to accomplish is to show how complicated the matter at hand is and not what might or not be the reason for the attack. Thanks. Good luck to everyone.

: ...is that chances are (although I don't want to jump to conclusions) that the attack was probably done in the name of someone's respective god/idle/whatever...

:
: : I'm sorry. We really shouldn't take this lightly. I know I'm not Kevin Smith or Lynch or Vincent, so you may not listen to me, and my request is pretty obvious, but I just want to ask that everyone take a second, or two to pray to their respective gods, idles, whatever, that this tradgedy ends as peacefully as possible and that the end of today is as far as this goes.

: : It may not upset you, but I'm pretty shaken, I got dismissed from school and my uncle works at the pentegon, I don't know whether he is ok or not, and I just thought comming to the board would give me a chance to sort of spread my point to some other people then just my friends. Please people, don't take this with SUCH a tounge in cheek attitude.
