In fact, they are the main characters. In case you haven't seen it (which of course you haven't, or you would have known whether or not J&SB were in it), here's the plot:
: Basically, this teacher (Professor Lambeau, played by Stellan Skarsgard) at MIT puts really difficult math problems on a blackboard outside his classroom for students to solve. They keep getting solved, but no one owns up to the solutions. Finally we learn that Silent Bob, who has been hanging around at MIT with Jay selling pot to students, has been solving all the problems. But then they get busted for possession with intent, and have to go to jail. Lambeau helps them get out by agreeing to tutor Silent Bob in math, and sending Jay to see a shrink (Robin Williams). All goes well until Chucky (Brad Dourif..I mean Ben Affleck) tells them that a movie is being made about them. They decide to go to Hollywood and stop it from being made, and also try to win back the heart of Jay's ex-girlfriend, Justice (Minnie Driver), who moved to LA. Along the way they encounter two angels trying to get into heaven, and visit a mall where they destroy the set of a television game show host.
