: : i'd like to begin my saying i was seriosly disappointed. First off, Why wasn't Alan Rickman in this movie? i know he was a minor character in "Dogma", but so was "Trish the dish" in "Mallrats", and Alan Rickman had 10 times the charisma of Trish.
: : second, and the most disappointing character in the movie was Brodie. He MADE all of the movies he was in (Dogma included). Jason Lee is THE MAN. in your newest release he was a minor cliche of his former self (the chocolate covered pretzel line was just plain sad). as Bankey, he was a pushover who bent at the very whim of jay and silent bob, and was a major sell out to boot.
: : Third, where was the wisdom dispensed by silent bob? okay, i understand that he tells jay where to go to find suzanne (which had a great song to it in "Mallrats", might i add, because i love Weezer"), and he explains to Bankey about the legal stipulations of their contractual agreement, but i was expecting something phenomenal that would change the whole direction of the movie, as did his advice to Dante in "Clerks" and his ancdote of Chasing Amy. but he gave no earth shattering advice as i expected him to. silent bob was just pretty much silent in this movie, which is unlike any of your other films.
: : That is all i really have to bitch about. i still reall yliked the movie, because it was funny, but i was disappointed in the referneces to other movies, which is what i expected from a filmmaker such as yourself. i also heard through the grapevine that this was going to be your last movie. i sincerely hope not because intelligent movies are harder to find now days than walt flannagens dog. please respond to this, i would like to hear what you have to say as the filmmaker.

: no, im not kevin, and no, my response is probobly not wanted. however, some of these issues have been discussed before, therefore i will enlighten you.
: in regards to alan rickman. why stop there. why not linda fioritino, orjeremy london, or claire forlani, or lisa spoonhouer, or marilyn gighliotti(sp?), or ethan suple, or the chewlies gum rep? simple. the characters they portrayed previously really had no part in this film. plain and simple.
: in regards to the jason lee roles. brodie and/or bankey really did not have "significant" roles in the film. i would love to see a movie all about brodie, but it wasnt what kevin visioned his film to be. the roles played very will with the story and jason as always made the movie more enjoyable by being in it for just a few moments.
: and in regards to silent bob's not giving earth shattering advice. well, bob was never intended on giving such advise...just sounding smart when he spoke. we have all been waiting for the time when bob totally lost it and went off on jay. and his speaking about the legal mumbo jumbo was almost like one of those disclaimers at the end of radio car dealership commercials. very specific, and very detailed. the kind of information that bob should not know at all. but the fact that he went into great details with it made it more the funnier. you talk about him giving earth shattering advice, but obviously have not watched the Dogma DVD which you spent so much money on. he says 3 words. "no ticket" and "thanks". if that isnt earth shattering, i dont know what is.
: and finally, in regards to you hearing "through the grapevine" that this is the last jay and silent bob flick...damn, what rock has your grapevine been stuck under. this has been a known fact since before an idea for this movie was even pondered. they will continue to live on in the comics, and the upcomming Clerks animated flick.
