Kevin,
I had a thought while watching your recent MTV2 special. What about a show
where established and up-and-coming film directors created videos for songs
that either never had videos made or which only have grainy concert or
lip-synched television footage attached to them. Martin Scorsese doing a
new video for "Layla"? Guy Ritchie doing a video for "Jailbreak"? Sam
Raimi doing a video for Rush's "Red Barchetta"? I figure you could
spearhead it and get the opportunity to create videos and work with some of
your own favorite artists. The advantage is, aside from obtaining the
rights to the songs, little or no direct involvement from the artists is
really required. I also thought that it could be run as a weekly 30-minute
show or a quarterly special or something like that. Call it MTV Redux or
something like that. Just thought I'd bounce it off ya. Love the
flicks...keep up the good work and I hope Mewes dug the kind words EW had
for him.
Lat
