They did mention Walt's dog near the end of Chasing Amy. When they're at the comic convention.
Oh this brings me on another note: If they killed off Cronic then how can they of made a movie about it in J&SBSB? Just like when Ethan askes Banky if there was gonna be an animated series of Bluntman & Cronic. But Banky says there wasn't because of Cronic being killed. The movie must of been based on an issue before Cronic died.
