Hello Mr. Kevin Smith and all the other ViewAskew members,
My name’s Marcus and I’m a first time writer to this site. I must admit that I didn’t know who Kevin Smith was, but now that I saw “Jay and Silent bob strike Back,” I want to know more and see more. This brought me to Kevin’s site. I currently am vying to try and get into the Film Business, since I love movies and can’t get enough of them. I am currently a critic now, because I go to the movies all the time. I view Mr. Kevin Smith as an inspiration now, because of the relevance of his works. My friends tell me that I only have gotten a taste of how brilliant Mr. Smith is. So I’m gonna go and buy the DVDs and anything else of his works, but that brings me to my questions. Hopefully Mr. Smith or anybody can answer these for me. And if I so happen to come across a question asked before, I apologize…
1) Why is it that there won’t be a sequel to “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back?”
2) How in gods name did Mr. Kevin Smith get all those people to be in the movie? (I realize that some of them are his friends, but still I was just wondering. There was just so many people.)
3) I heard that Mr. Smith is gonna retire at the age of 40 from filmmaking. Is this true? And if so, Why? It seems like He has so much more to make and do…
4) I was wondering if anyone knew when “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back” was gonna come out on DVD or VHS? I know its too early to tell now, but I was just curious if anyone already knew…
5) Has Mr. Smith ever considered doing his own show on TV or something? Like on HBO or something?
6) I also have been told that Mr. Smith is not only an Actor and Director, but a writer also. I wanted to know if Mr. Smith ever considered being another character in another movie, other than Silent Bob? if he hasn’t already..
7) What are Mr. Smith’s plans for appearing on TV shows, Talk shows, or Specials in the near future or future?
8) Has Mr. Smith ever considered writing a book about his experiences and thoughts on the Film business? I figure that would be interesting and intelligent reading.
9) Has Mr. Smith ever thought about writing a script to an Action, Horror, or Fantasy movie?
10) Will Mr. Smith create any new characters for us to know and love in his next works?
11) How did Mr. Kevin Smith get into the whole filmmaking business?
12) What advice would you give a movie-goer like myself, on how to get into the film business like Mr. Kevin Smith and everybody else has?
OK those are my questions. I hope that they are original and can be answered by Mr. Kevin Smith or anyone who knows the answers…if anyone can answer them I will greatly appreciate it. Also I have seen “Jay and Silent Bob strike back” 3 times (2 times on Saturday) and I intend on seeing it again, because I just can’t get enough of it. I have heard about what the GLAAD is saying about Mr. Smith and his works, and I can only say this.. There are plenty of movies that bash gays and lesbians and I haven’t heard them say anything about them, except “Jay and Silent Bob strike Back.” So all I can say is that they have no idea what there talking about. I honestly have been wanting to know where Mr. Kevin Smith gets his inspiration from. Mr. Kevin Smith is a very excellent writer/director/creator and he deserves to be recognized for his brilliance, and I for one will recognize it from now on.
