Dear Mr. Smith

This is my first time writing on a "board" and so im just going to write it in a letter format. First off, I thouroughly enjoyed the film, although I wasnt let in on the sneak preview day (I guess "NR" means "R") I saw it on Friday, the day it opened. I am excited to learn that your next film will be on parenthood, fatherhood more specifically. I am much happier to hear that you are making another Fletch film.
Although many criticize you for ending the Jersy Trilogy, I truely believe that the time was right to end the saga, or close the book as God did at the end of the film. I was very relieved to know that no homosexuals were harmed in the making of the film.
The only reason I am writing here is because you said this:

But remove the figures and all (because, let's face it - the
movie's going to make it's money back and then some; especially
with video) and concentrate on what really matters...

Were you entertained?

I cant think of any time when a film maker or actor has ever said that what really matters is whether or not i was entertained. I believe that this is what seperates you from other independent film makers. You seem to care about one thing and one thing only, the fans. Im sure that Steven Speilberg would not say no if you asked him for an autograph but im pretty sure that he would never go to a Comic Con and answer questions from his fans for three hours.

In the end, i thank you for the ride, it has been an awesome one. Good luck as a Writer, Directer, Actor(i guess) but most importantly fater.

Sincerely,
Colin Shanahan
A Fan until the end
