Clerks 2? Please respond Kevin! (or anybody else)

I know this subject probably was already covered down the line, but im too lazy to check all 3000 posts. So whats up with "Clerks 2"? I heard that jay and silent bob strike back was technically "clerks 2", but that dont make any sense being that the clerks only made cameo appearances. I also heard that there is gonna be a clerks animated movie, but I'd rather see a "Clerks 2" other than the animated movie. I mean,dont get me wrong, i love the animated shows, but i dont think it would work well with audiences (adult concept cartoon? It didnt work well with "Final Fantasy"-no offense to final fantasy fans). And that would be a great idea to end jay and silent bob with the same movie that they began with.
