Very well said...
I can not speak from the same point of view as you since I do not know Jason or Ben A. personally, but I can say that if I did, I would feel the same way. No one wants to see thier friends get trashed/exploited - and in Mewes and Affleck's cases, on such a large (global) scale.

I guess thats one of the most fucked up things about being well known- that your personal business all of a sudden becomes "well known"

It sounds to me that Jason has very good, true friends, and I can bet that this is what is going to help get him through this.

I'm sure everyone on this board hopes that things turn out for him and Ben both, as they are both very talented and respected by a ton of people. If anything, I like to think that the only good of coming off of substance abuse when you do it in the public's eye is that maybe someone somewhere else can draw inspiration from watching someone they admire face the same demons that they do

Anyhow, well said.
And being the hypocrite I am, I propose that no one respond to posts regarding the Mewes thing anymore (even if its written by newbies). Maybe if no one talks about it, it will burn out on its own.
Kelly.

: I really didn't want to bring this up - but I'm really angry.

: It's pretty messed up that anyone who claims to be a 'fan' of Jay's work should even care about his personal business. I understand that because he is a "celebrity" (although he is the biggest ANTI-celebrity in this god forsaken SHITHOLE that we live in a/k/a: Hollywood) that doesn't mean that his personal business needs to be an open book. And perhaps Kevin is only trying to tell the real truth about this, instead of giving the leeches of the press free reign to turn this into tabloid fodder (already happened, I'm sure.)

: I wish people/fans/whatever would excercise their human abilities to just let news like this roll off of them instead of being so gossip-hungry idiots. If enough people act as if they could care less, didn't buy the magazines, didn't glue themselves to E!, etc. then maybe those ASSHOLES in the media will leave good guys like Jay (and Affleck, for that matter) the Hell alone. It's nobody's business but Jay's - and his personal friends (of which I am) and family.

: For something like this to get enough attention (alebeit BELATED)that it gets to the point that even Kevin (bless his heart for being such a saint) would feel obligated to make a "statement" about it, really works me up.
: Of COURSE the "alleged" violation of probation would be against the law, but there are also circumstances that leave room for human error. Try bi-coastal production on a movie!? Jeez!

: Isn't it enough that Jay is working every damn day to fight this monster? And now the media has to make it even that much harder to fight? It's shit like thais that drives people right back to their addictions, God dammit!

: I'm sorry for coming off so bitter, but this really upsets me. I love Jay and I can't help but feel protective. I wish I could just make it all go away.
