...because the new tv ads that just came out spoil a number of the surprises and cameos in rapid fire succession. Oops, I didn't see it right away, so now it's been wrecked. I "was" looking forward to seeing the film, but I didn't realize that Miramax would become so desparate for cash so quickly. I realize that with Zemekis' movies that the endings and plot points will be given away...it's interesting that this form for posting messages says not to include any spoilers...why bother?...all you have to do is turn on a television... What money hungry bastard decided that. It's hard enough to avoid surprises in movies with so many jackasses in the world continually yammering away without thinking. I've avoided reviews and postings for J&SBSB for just that reason. Screw it...let's just have every movie and every joke be obvious and utterly lacking in originality if all the surprises out there are going to be spoiled. I realize movies need to be marketed...I don't have a problem with some of the jokes being given away in the trailers...I just don't like these cheap ploys that spoil surprises. I'm genuinely pissed and disappointed. I don't think I should have to catch a sneak preview or an opening weekend to not have large chunks of a movie given away. Maybe I'll see J&SBSB when it makes it to the second run theaters...the projector will be out of focus, the sound will be tinny and my feet will stick to the floor, but at least Miramax will only be making a buck off of me rather than nine...then again, maybe I'll wait till it hits cable. Thanks, thanks a lot.
