Yes, I would not forget that they met the greatest earthquake ever known…" because I've always wondered why it needed to be so great an earthquake. It would seem like a normally mighty earthquake would've worked as well and stood a much lesser chance of just killing them.
But that wouldn't sound nearly as groovy in the song, so…
