I addressed that in my post. The facts of "Wired" haven't really been disputed, just the tone.

I don't recall referencing any "Gospels" in my post. All I'm trying to say is that "Wired" disputes the original poster's assertion that Belushi was not a heroin addict. It is an exhaustively researched work. Some people felt that it was too sensational, that too much emphasis had been placed on John's drug problems. Nonetheless, the facts of those problems are not disputed.
People who knew him loved him, yet they didn't like the person in the biography. That doesn't mean the person in the biography wasn't accurately drawn, maybe just that in this other context, he wasn't quite as charming and lovable as people wanted him to be.
