It was just the movie jumping from one scene to another. It happens a lot. There was actually a part taken out of there though, which might be why it seems so abrupt.
After the get kicked out of the car, Jay pulls a long ass pube out of his mouth and says something like "She had 70s bush." That would have given the movie NC-17, so they had to take it out.
A mother-fucking PUBE woulda give the film an NC-17. What the fuck is wrong with the MPAA? They're insane.
