Before I get ridden off of the board with this post, let me say something, I liked Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. I think it was a hillarious road trip comedy and the movie was everything that Kev wanted it to be....
However, as a fan of the View Askewniverse I was disappointed at the same time. The beauty of Kevin's movies are the witty dialogue that he writes. Coupled with Tarantino, Kev is one of the best writers of dialogue in the business right now -- and he strayed far, far away from that with this film. Secondly, I was hoping to see a lot more of the other View Askerw characters -- Dante, Randal, Brodie, Holden, Alyssa, and Hooper X, among many others.
With the method that Kev applied in this movie, making Jay and Silent Bob the main characters, I don't think the View Askewniverse was brought to a proper conclusion. There is so much more that Kev can do with all of these characters, mentioned above, even if he doesn't want Jay and Silent Bob to appear ever again.... I'd like to see more of some of the real minor charcters as well -- Ric Derris, Alyssa Jones' sisters, T.S., Brandi Svenning, Veronica, and so on and so forth.
The bottom line is Kev, I know you don't want to be known as a one-trick pony, but the majority of the fans of the View Askewniverse, including me, aren't happy about the way this is ending. I think you have room for at least one more View Askewniverse flick. There are so many plot lines that you could choose from, and with your screenwriting ability, I know you can pull another one off for the fans.... You'd definitely need an ensemble cast of the great characters that you've created, but you can make it work.... Hell, I got plot ideas for you already:
The View Askewniverse meets something like 200 Cigarettes; The View Askewniverse meets a comedic version of the Godfather-type flick; The View Askewniverse meets a Big Trouble-like flick....
There's a whole bunch of stuff Kev can do to continue the View Askewniverse, with or without Jay and Silent Bob.... Please do it, bro!
