Sir, the reason you didn't appreciate the humor of this movie is because you don't understand the depth of the characters and merging plots. See "Clerks," "MallRats," "Chasing Amy" and "Dogma," then give "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" another try. You'd be pleasantly surprised. Kevin Smith is a genius at wrapping characters and stories. His latest flick answers questions we've been asking for seven years (We finally know the story of Suzanne!) That's what makes this film so good!
