CLERKS in anamorphic widescreen on DVD??

Sorry if the flow of this post is choppy, its being continued from the newly archived board...I had asked about the possibility of Miramax re-issuing the CLERKS DVD with an anamorphic widescreen transfer.

I have to admit that having an engineering degree, I know nothing about film making or the stock of materials used, but I find it hard to believe that movies that came out 20+ years ago can now be released on DVD with anamorphic widescreen transfers (French Connection, Jaws, Rear Window, etc.) and that Clerks couldn't simply because of the way that Kevin filmed it.
