: Truthfully, bootlegging on video tapes/vcds is slowly being done away with. If you want to find 20 people with a copy of Jay and Silent Bob, along with every other movie out (and a few that havent even been released yet), follow these steps:

: 1) go to www.mirc.com and download/install mirc
: 2) inside the mirc status window, type /server us.dal.net
: 3) when you are connected, type /join #houseofmovies
: 4) inside this channel, type !list and look at all of the people advertising the bootlegged movies that they have.

: As to the "Any douchebags that actually buy those things can be really happy that they were so clever to stick it to the man that they have to watch a blurry, crooked, muffled sound knock off vhs or vcd of a flick they couldve seen on the big screen for cheaper" comment, to use the IRC is FREE and you can watch the movie as many times as you want. Please explain to me how it is "cheaper" to go to the theater. When there is a film out that I want to see (its a very rare occasion), I do go to the theater. When there isn't a movie out that I want to see, I read. Bootlegging needs to stop, it *IS* costing the industry money, but how can it be stopped? The napster trial took months to stop the sharing of files
: of bootlegged compact discs. Are you going to have a crack team of agents busting down every bootlegger in the world (both digital and street)?

Napster was stopped and in it's place 20 more sprang up. So it hasn't been stopped. You should have used that to further explain your point. But you got the idea.
