: In all seriousness, as somebody who's been through this same crap with a family member (my older brother), I'm glad to head that Jason has cleaned up his act so well, and the last time I did see him (in April when they were shooting in NJ) Jason LOOKED a hundred times more healthy than I've seen him looking in a long time, and I wish him all the luck in his continued recovery (because once an addict, always an addict, even if you are not using- same goes for alcoholism. The differnece is you are either a recovering, non-using addict, or an active addict- again, I know this is semantics but we've been through it all here with my brother so I know all this stuff) and post- Jay career.

I'm in recovery myself and don't expect the world to understand my problem as a disease rather than a moral deffeciency, but all this does make me wonder about Mewes. How can he personally continue to portray a character who so pro-drug knowing what this shit has done to his life?

Your sysnopsis about drug addiction (and alcoholism, their the same - an alcoholic is addicted to the socially acceptable drug: ethanol) is spot-on Vincent, lest anyone think his problem is over, beaten, or spanked. There is no known cure for this disease.
