I don’t want spoil the movie for anyone so I won’t get into specifics, and I haven’t read a whole lot about the making of this movie – please forgive my ignorance (adult-husband-daddy responsibilities have taken priority over my View Askew time).
I noticed subtle similarities to one of my all time faves, Pee Wee’s Big Adventure – another road adventure. Were parts of J&SBSB inspired by PWBA or was it parodied at points in the movie? I mean there is a not-so-obvious yet obvious part that takes place on the Hollywood set. I was waiting for the Danny Elfman music to kick in to seal the parody. Then the scene went in the direction of an ET parody – I thought “well…maybe not.” Was it or was it not a Pee Wee reference?
Also, there was an internet contest a while back for a walk-on role in this movie. Where in the movie was the winner. My guess is the dude standing in line at the fast-food joint. He was the only person who seemed a little awkward in the whole movie.
