Just look at it this way for movies that were released this week Jay and Silent Bob was number 1 in the charts and people probally went Friday night because they so desperatly wanted to see it opening night.
Heck all weekend long over here in Muncie(Ball State) the show was sold out at the movie theater nearest the campus even though they were showing the mummy returns for free on Friday night on campus.
Also check your ratings on college campuses if I know my generation you will be number one in that area to.
