We went to a 10pm showing last night at the Danvers Loews - theatre right inside the mall, which I thought was odd back during "Fast Times at Ridgemont High".
The good news? It was in Theatre 13 (out of 20) - the big one. Actually, it was on a second screen as well, but the fact that they put the movie in this theatre speaks well for their prospects for the flick.
The bad news? It was in Theatre 13 - it's hard to see an "average" size audience in a really big (for this area) screen. Is 13 an unlucky number? Well, it was the same theatre that we had seen "American Pie 2" at just last weekend. I had read on this board that the sneak preview had sold out at this same theatre - but it was likely on a smaller screen.
I did thoroughly enjoy the movie - the Scoobie scene was absolutely priceless! Granted, I would love it if the actual real-life cast were involved in the shoot, but the scene itself was terrific.
I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for the weekend total.
And I'll get the guys to go next week so that the second-week drop-off just doesn't happen.
