: I live in Atlanta, GA and I saw J&SB at the sneak preview. I loved it, as I've loved all of Kevin's movies. In the Atlanta Journal Constitution the movie received a B rating, which I thought was a little stringent, but it's still very good compared to all the other older movie reviewers. In the same articale was a statement that shocked me. It said that J&SB was the last of the New Jersey series. Now my next little speech is directed toward Kevin, and I do hope that he reads it, or if one of the admins. reads this the will forward it to him. Don't worry, I have the utmost respect for him and this is not a bash-post.
: I am a fan of Star Wars, much like anyone who loves Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, and now Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Now that last title triggered something. J&SB is Episode V of the New Jersey Series, while the Empire Stirkes Back is Episode V of the Star Wars Saga. Where-in, Clerks is episode one, where we meet the characters that start it all. In Episode II (Mallrats) where we first see the major conflicts arise but we don't realize it yet (the bluntman and chronic comics). In Episode III where relationships and everthing is all torn to hell. Then in Episode IV (Dogma) where new characters are introduced in new settings with some old characters that come back. Then In Episode V (J&SB and Empire) the major conflict is addressed, but is not resolved. Now, the problem with all this is, without an Episode VI (Jedi...) the conflict is not resolved, nor are any of the characters. Will Holden and Amy get back together, will Silent Bob ever find "Amy"? Will Jay and Justice get physical? And whatever happened to Suzanne? If there isn't a finale movie, all the questions remained unanswered. I understand that you might want to get on in your career, but these films, they're already cult classics. They're up there higher than Wayne's World, or Bill and Ted, Goonies, Road Trip, American Pie, or (dare I say it?) The Star Wars Saga. But the New Jersey Series are differetn, not only are they hilarious, but they're inteligent as well. To sum it up, the series needs a finale, if not, it just kinda ends. It's like buying a 400 page book, but leaving out the last chapter. I hope even if I haven't swayed your decision I've at least made you think...
: The Series needs six...
: - good luck, god speed-
I know that I said something about doing a "trilogy " type thing here to keep it like the whole Star Wars thing?
