Well Kev and folks, I don't know what else we could have done. I've happy that we got the best showing for a new film, but I was really pulling for that #1 overall slot. Wish I could have gone to every show this weekend, but as it was, we were only able to catch a Saturday afternoon show.
Not sure how much it would have helped, though...this town is kind of back woods people, and there's not a heck of a lot of VA fans...there's a college not too far away, but nobody's come back for the semester yet. To top it off, the swine theater put J&SB in a room with a faulty projector, so that the sound cut out right after the bong sabre fight, and never came back. The management wound up giving out free passes to everyone at that show. I'd have been even more pissed had that been my first showing of the film, but I was glad I went to the sneak last weekend. I certainly hope they got it fixed by the next show.
Kevin, I'm really sorry, but be proud of making a good film, and congratulations on your best showing ever. No, J&SBSB isn't your best film, but it's probably your most fun, and I think that's what you were aiming for. We'll catch it again sometime over the holiday weekend (hell, I at least want to get to the ending a second time before the DVD comes out!).
And we can all take solace that the "Bubble" burst.
