Kev, et al....
C2 [I'm still used to calling it that] wasn't quite what I was expecting; I'd got the impression that it would be more of a sequel to Dogma, and a general continuation of Clerks.
Still, this turned out to be a decent film. Although a number of the inside jokes will be lost on the masses. The running fourth-wall gag should clue them in.
I hesitate to compare this to the other VA films; I think that's what most of the negative reviews are doing. But the previous films are kinda prerequisite to this one--it's not exactly a standalone. So: while I liked MallRats more than most people I know, Jay and Slient Bob was more entertaining. But it wasn't quite as good as Dogma; that's one of the most intelligent films I've ever seen--granting that I'm an atheist, that says a lot, I think.
So, even though I was expecting something entirely else, I'm still giving this a positive review. A very funny film with will likely play on college TV pit DVPlayers for decades to come.
Off the subject, Kev: what are your thoughts on playing a part in a film not made by VA? Are you pretty well locked into keeping control of the script and direction, or are you thinking of expanding?
Still lurking....
