I don't think it's a bad move to make Banky gay. I just think he was a cooler, more complex character when he was living in denial and suppressing rage, mutha-fucka. Banky's a cool character because there's always that uncertainty about him. Is he or isn't he? Will he ever come to terms with his identity?
If the Askewniverse were a sit-com, making Banky definitely gay would be a "jump the shark" moment.
