For the past...Christ, I dunno, like 2 years, I couldn't wait to get the fucking characters out of the way. I liked Chasing Amy more than any OTHER movie because it actually showcased Kevin's talent for dramatic dialogue, and the best scene in Dogma, I think, is that parking garage scene for the same reason. I started to LOATHE Jay and Silent Bob because ANOTHER movie would be wasted on them and it'd be another two years before we got a mature Kevin Smith movie.
And then after I saw it, I was REALLY depressed. I didn't know why, and I guess it's because I spent so long just saying "fuck you" to the whole Jay and Silent Bob thing that I'm honestly sad it's over.
Well, I wasn't like "slitmywrists" depressed, but I was down.
Oddly enough, that First Kiss comic pulled me out of the rut.
Either way, I know what you mean, and when I think back on it, the ending of the movie was probably a lot more cinematic than anyone planned on it being.
And what's with that "It means I'm just joking" as "Jay and Silent Bob Have Left the Building" hit center screen? That was sort of ominous.
